Canadian Crossfit: Gridiron program structure

Crossfit Gridiron is designed to replicate on field demands, distances, times and intensities. all of which are used to create a comprehensive high intensity workout within the domain of traditional speed and strength programs.

The structure of this program is similar to most elite football programs in respect to their strength and speed components, which are loosely based on unchanging basic training principles. The program distinguishes itself by engaging these concepts through the fundamentals and functionality of crossfit.

The reason for this is simple, football players have to be bigger, stronger and faster to be successful. But this is an oversimplified version of an athlete. That is not to say the aforementioned components of fitness are not extremely important, but It is how we train ourselves in the remaining particulars of fitness that separates players in both testing and on the field. This is where Crossfit has been found to fill the void left behind by traditional strength training methods,  we make athletes not players.
